Meet the Cast of ACCORDING TO THE CHORUS! Anglia Redding plays Audrey!

What is your name? Anglia Redding

What is your role in the show? I play Audrey, the bossy dresser who has many opinions that she isn’t afraid to share! This character is totally against type for me because I am certainly not bossy in real life, ha ha!

Why should audiences come to see According to the Chorus? This play deals with important issues, many of which are still relevant today. It reminds us that through pain and fear and misunderstanding, love and hope will always bloom.

What would you say would be a highlight of working on According to the Chorus? I have loved working with some old friends and some new faces! It’s also been great working under directors I’ve never had the pleasure of working with before. I’m always learning something new.

Many characters in According to the Chorus are grappling with their own personal struggles, some more openly than others. What was a challenge that you overcame that most people might not have known about at the time? TRIGGER WARNING: In 2014, I was struggling with my mental health to the point where I had active suicidal ideation. I had many wonderful and loving people in my life who aided me in getting the help I needed. While I still struggle with depression, I now have the tools I need to support myself while still being surrounded by an amazing group of people.

What is your favourite costume that you’ve ever worn? My favourite costume was the one I wore as Stella Mae (then) in Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean at Keyano Theatre in Fort McMurray. We all had these really cool red satin-like jackets with the character name stitched on the sleeve. I asked to have it after the show was done, but I had to do some backstage work (and rightfully so!) before it became mine. I still have it hanging in my closet!
